Bodywork - Cutting it all apart

Back to the Home Page See more work in progress Initially the intent was to replace the sills, fit repair panels to OSF & OSR wheel arches. However once the rust and filler was removed it became apparent that there was much more lurking hidden away.
The front valance was beyond repair at its junction with the NSF wing and looked to have been poorly fitted to the OSF wing when that was replaced sometime previous.
At this point it was becoming clear that most of the car would need to be painted following panel repairs. Only the bonnet and boot lid were remaining untouched and on closer inspection they too were found in need of paint. In the case of the bonnet small blisters were apparent due to moisture contamination during previous paintwork and the boot was scratched beyond polishing. So the decision was made to remove the windscreen and paint the whole car properly. No doubt new paint will make the chrome look poor. More expense!
